Vehicle Restoration

 
 

These photographs show the vehicle in various stages of refurbishment. The first problem was to remove all the panelling that had been fitted to the main area - when we did this we were pleasantly surprised to find that most of the original “Formica” pegboard was intact and the original lights were still present.


The underside has been shot-blasted and painted and the bodywork has been filled and primed where necessary.


One of the major problems was the front area; there was accident damage and we also knew (from another vehicle of the same date) that there would probably be corrosion of the internal steel plates - this turned out to be the case.


Another milestone has passed - the vehicle is now resplendent in its new colours - Deep Bronze Green with a Dove Grey stripe. See the last few photos on page 3.
